There is a need for a child and father interaction in our communities, particularly black communities. Young boys are growing without fathers, their young mothers are off to work, some mothers are still young and still feel the need to socialise, leaving the young one with aunties and grandmothers.

I am a father myself, and I owe all my being to the great fatherhood I experienced growing up, till today. I am not perfect, I try my best to be the greatest father to my daughter and step son.

Travelling has exposed so much to me and has largely contributed to how I see the world and people. One of our first projects as Leeto Tours and Leisure is the Daddy and Kids Camp. A weekend away of father and child interaction. The first was on the 31st March to 2 April 2017. The target was 20 dad’s, but we made it to 10, 50% of our target was achieved, and I am proud. What I realised though is that we have left out, kids with no fathers, or present fathers.

It is a struggle raising raising a boy child for any woman. No amount of sneakers, video games, or expensive toys will replace his father, or the love he yearns for. No mother, will kick a ball with her son, race cars, shoot a kettle ,dunk the son in their pool or talk about their sons fights like a male figure would. So next trip I will will be accepting kids with no fathers in their lives and they are coming with us. Father or Fatherless,every child deserves love, attention, character building experiences. Let us do away with substituting parenthood with material and address real issues. Let us build young men that will respect women and women who will raise kings, be leaders in their community, boys and girls that will be strong, responsible black kings and queens.

You will never be the perfect parent, all we have to do is keep trying.Let us take charge, let’s make fatherhood fashionable.

The recent trip was a huge success and due to a high demand, a date has been set for the upcoming trip next summer, on the 1 – 3 December 2017. Costs range between R2500 – R3000 for both father and child which includes two nights accomodation, 3 meals and 2 activities daily for the whole weekend, and ofcourse lesser for a child travelling on their own.

Activities included a game drive, obstacle courses, the gladiator course ,treasure hunt and human foozball.
